From Sarria to Santiago - 114.2 km

Exclusive experiences on the Camino de Santiago
A journey like no other
1st day: from Santiago de Compostela Airport to Sarria
Free arrival in Santiago de Compostela. Transfer to Sarria. Let's take 'The Credential'. Overnight stay.
2nd day: from Sarria to Portomarín (22.2 km)
Breakfast. Start the day by crossing Barbadelo. In this village you must stop in front of the church of Santiago, declared a National Historic Monument. The next town that appears before the eyes of the walker is Rente, followed by Mercado de Serra, a humble village where Jews usually flocked to negotiate and supply goods to pilgrims. The itinerary continues to Rente, Brea, Ferreiros, Rozas and Vilachá, a rural peasant village where the ruins of the Loio Monastery, cradle of the Knights of the Order of Santiago, are preserved. The hermit of Santa María di Loio emerges in this town with Visigothic style walls. We arrive in Potomarín, an old village buried by the water after the construction of the dam. Overnight stay.
Day 3: Portomarín to Palas de Rei (24.8 km)
Breakfast. The pilgrim returns to the Camino, which passes through Gonzar, Castromayor, Hospital da Cruz, Ventas de Narón, Lameiros, where you can stop to visit the Chapel of San Marco and admire a beautiful transept. The itinerary advances and enters Ligonde, Ebbe, Albergo, Portos, Lastedo and Valos before reaching Palas de Rei, half of today's stage. Overnight stay.
4th day: from Palas de Rei to Arzúa (28.5 km)
Breakfast. We enter the province of A Coruna. Crossing San Xulián, Pontecampaña, Casanova, Coto, Leboreiro, which preserves an ancient Roman road; Furelos, Melide (where they say you eat the best 'Galician-style' octopus in the world). Here the French Way joins with the Northern Way coming from Oviedo. Continue the journey via Carballal, Ponte das Penas, Raido, Bonete, Castaneda, Ribadiso, and after the pilgrim reaches the end of the stage, Arzúa. Overnight stay.
5th day: from Arzúa to Rua/Pedrouzo (19.3 km)
Breakfast. Comfortable stage with few slopes. We advance towards long forest paths, crossing woods and prairies. We continue, as in the previous phase, the axis of the national N-547: be careful when we cross it. Staying in O Pedrouzo puts us at a good distance to get to Santiago de Compostela the next day. The final destination of our journey. Overnight stay.
6th day: from Rua/Pedrouzo to Santiago de Compostela (19.4 km)
Breakfast. The day has arrived... The last stage of the Camino de Santiago begins with which you have been able to admire the countless wonders resulting from centuries of history. The route begins for Burgo, Arca, San Antón, Amenal and San Paio. Then you enter Lavacolla, a town where ancient pilgrims washed and changed to enter the city of Compostela. Afterwards the itinerary passes through Villamalor, San Marcos, Monte do Gozo (first point to see the bell tower of the Cathedral where the name 'Mount of Joy' comes from), San Lázaro, and finally, SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA. Already inside the Cathedral you need to go to the crypt where Santiago's tomb is located and follow one of the most significant traditions... embracing the Saint. Overnight stay.
7th day: Santiago de Compostela
Breakfast. Santiago is a wonderful and lively city where there is the possibility of adding other days. Our journey ends with the hope that this experience has given you unique and inimitable emotions for the mind and body. Happy return…
Upon arrival you will be given the Credential. Card that, along the Camino, you will have to have stamped (at least 2 times a day) in any bar, shop, authorized accommodation... you will find them everywhere. The Credential will then be presented to the Pilgrim Office of Santiago de Compostela to demonstrate that you have traveled at least the last 100 km and obtain…The Compostela. Curious certificate written in Latin that will be a nice souvenir of your trip.
