I'll tell you why it's important that you respond to this investigation we're conducting.
In 1987 the United Nations World Commission on Environment and Development drafted a document, the Brundtland report (also known as “Our Common Future”), according to which sustainable development is defined as:
«that development which allows the satisfaction of the economic, environmental and social needs of current generations, without compromising the development of future generations».
The European Union, following the signing of the Paris Agreement on the climate and the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development of the United Nations, has decisively undertaken a path aimed at achieving the transition towards growth models that are attentive to environmental issues. The decision taken on 11 December 2020 to cut emissions by 55% by 2030 and 100% by 2050 is historic.
In 2015 Pope Francis wrote the encyclical "Laudato si'" inspired by the teachings of Saint Francis, the first to understand that all creation must live in harmony in a sort of "integral ecology". Each of us is called in our own small way to respect nature and other living beings.
But to understand what and how to do we must set ourselves measurable objectives . This is how in 2015, the 193 member countries of the United Nations defined a set of major sustainable development priorities: the "17 Sustainable Development Goals" (Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs). These offer valid support to route company activities, related products, services and investments in a more sustainable way.
Alma Travel, which has always been attentive to the environment and social issues, voluntarily underwent a tool to demonstrate its ESG (Environmental Social Governance) compliance : the Sustainability Certification. The certification is carried out against applicable ISO standards (universally accepted), which are related to ESG sustainability aspects, which in turn are related to the GRI Standards and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.
Sustainability is much more than just a word: it is a responsibility. Alma Travel has achieved certification and has set itself the goal of being a Sustainable Travel Management Company (achieving an ESG Rating A), thus paving the way for companies that want to follow it.
With the Sustainability Certification, Alma Travel has demonstrated that it is a company that has initiated sustainability processes : its business is objectively sustainable, it is good for others (employees, collaborators, suppliers, banks, investment funds, customers, consumers) , is good for the environment (sea turtle recovery programs and energy from renewable sources) and is absolutely good (for the community, for our country and for our planet).
If you liked what you read and you also want to measure your sustainability, fill out the questionnaire below . The results of the survey will be presented on January 29th at 11:00 during the round table “Business Travel: models for environmental and social sustainability” at GECO , the first Italian virtual sustainability fair ( sign up to participate ).

ESG (Environmental Social Governance) is the Sustainability Certification that qualifies us as an eco-sustainable Travel Management Company, attentive to the environment and people.
