I read a research commissioned by our international network Wintravel and I am happy to share the results with you (attached you will find the entire research in English).

There are two salient points I would like to focus on:

Smart working

The first is focused on smart working or rather home working given that with the pandemic the nascent agile working was very suddenly transformed into working from home. Those who were used to traveling a lot before the pandemic are certainly appreciating the new rhythms and well-being generated by home working but those who approach work in this period and who are necessarily working in a familiar environment which is the home environment, a sort of comfort zone, will one day accept working in a traditional context (in research define them as 9 to 5 workers)?

Environmental sustainability

The second point touches on a topic very dear to me: that of environmental sustainability.
From a research carried out by IATA, it is thought that in any case there will be a contraction in business travel with a range of between 13 and 44% less compared to 2019. This figure is understandable but then we must understand when it is appropriate to travel and when a simple Zoom meeting is enough. This research helps with a self-assessment to understand which trips could be more essential than others and therefore in some way makes both the travel manager and the traveler himself responsible for the sustainable use of business trips.

I don't want to make predictions about what companies' travel policy will be like in the future but certainly all the tools that will lead us to rethink it by looking at it from a different point of view are welcome.

Thanks for reading this thought of mine.
Richard
