Dear friends, you haven't heard from me in a long time and I'm sorry. In such a turbulent period, like the one we have been experiencing for 7 months, many authoritative people have put forward hypotheses, strategies, advice: not me . Being ignorant as I am, I preferred to watch what would happen in the world of Business Travel and I'm finally starting to see a path that seems feasible for the resumption of travel: the antigen test (better known as swab) in all the airports of the world.

Many associate this period with the equally tragic period of September 11, 2001, the attack on the twin towers in NYC. That event brought a radical change in the way of traveling with increasingly restrictive security measures to guarantee the protection of air flights, leading to the presence of X-ray scanners in some airports. Maybe one day those same scanners at the airport will help us they will say whether we have Covid or something else, but we must once again face a change in dealing with travel .

The companies that have introduced "Covid free" flights such as Emirates, Etihad, Qatar Airways, Turkish and last but not least Alitalia on the Fiumicino-Linate route are welcome, even if for a 50 minute national flight I find it possible to show up 2 hours early to take the test a little counterproductive, but that's fine: I hope that many will follow the example since customers have the right to travel peacefully, otherwise that trip will become counterproductive for the company.

Some consortia of agencies in the United Kingdom are asking the government to lift the quarantine for travelers in possession of a negative antigen test carried out 48 hours before entering the country and I am firmly convinced that if the English government grants the exemption immediately afterwards also US government and other nations will comply.

And do we want to talk about this winter's holidays that should already be booked in Italian travel agencies in the Maldives, United Arab Emirates and Seychelles? If we don't do something immediately we will have missed another important opportunity and many agencies and tour operators will not be able to survive by waiting to sell only "Mare Italia 2021".

So what is my hope? That an almost infinite number of rapid antigen tests be made available to doctors, but also to general practitioners, because if we limited ourselves to trusting in the arrival of a vaccine it would already find us clinically dead from a financial and non-financial point of view. it could resurrect us.
